Canon 77D Overview

Comprising a versatile feature-set for both still photography and video recording, the EOS 77D DSLR from Canon blends advanced imaging capabilities with an intuitive design. Revolving around a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 7 image processor, images can be recorded using a broad native sensitivity range of ISO 100-25600, to suit shooting in a variety of lighting conditions, and a continuous shooting rate of 6 fps benefits working with moving subjects. The sensor's design also facilitates Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which uses phase-detection autofocus for quick, accurate, and smooth performance to suit both video shooting and stills use in live view. Alternatively, a 45-point all cross-type phase-detect AF system is also featured for shooting stills using the optical pentamirror viewfinder.

In regard to the physical design, a large 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD is featured for easy settings and playback control and live view monitoring, and it uses a vari-angle design to permit easier viewing from high and low working angles. A top LCD screen is also incorporated into the design for quickly recognizing your shooting settings, and a rear Quick Control dial affords more intuitive settings navigation. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi with NFC is available for quick and convenient pairing with a smartphone or tablet for wireless image sharing, and Bluetooth is also featured for image sharing to and remote camera control from a mobile device.

24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 7 Image Processor
Both a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 7 image processor are used to deliver high sensitivity and fast camera performance to suit both stills and video applications. A flexible native ISO 100-25600 range, which can be extended to ISO 51200, suits working in a variety of lighting conditions, and the processing capabilities minimize noise for notable clarity. The processor also contributes to a fast 6 fps continuous shooting rate for photographing fast-moving subjects.
45-Point All Cross-Type AF and Dual Pixel CMOS AF Systems
Benefitting stills shooting with the optical viewfinder, a wide-area 45-point all cross-type phase-detection autofocus system provides quick and precise focusing in difficult lighting conditions. The cross-type design of the sensors affords greater accuracy in low-contrast and mixed lighting conditions, and the broad coverage of the 45 sensors is ideal for tracking and maintaining focus on moving subjects.

When recording video or shooting in live view, a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system is employed that offers smooth and fast focusing performance in a similar manner to how a camcorder acquires focus. This system integrates two separate photodiodes within each pixel to provide a broad and dense network of phase-detection gathering elements across a majority of the image sensor to reduce focus hunting for faster, more direct control of focus placement. When working with still imagery, this focusing system works to acquire focus quickly and accurately, making it ideally suited to shooting and tracking moving subjects so that critical focus is attained with each shot. When shooting video, a Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances within the scene, as well as the ability to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face Tracking priority. Benefited by the Touch AF system, rack focus is possible simply by touching elements within the scene on the touchscreen in order to change focus in an intuitive manner. Subject tracking in movies is also heightened due to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system's ability to recognize subjects and maintain focus when working within changing or cluttered scenery.
Full HD 1080p Video Recording
In addition to stills recording, the 77D also supports Full HD 1080p video recording at up to 60 fps in the MP4 format with IPB compression, or 30 fps in the MOV format with ALL-I compression when making in-camera time-lapse movies. Video recording is benefitted by the inclusion of Dual Pixel CMOS AF and the Movie Servo AF focusing functions, as well as the touchscreen design of the LCD monitor for intuitive control. Movie Electronic IS is also featured to minimize the appearance of camera shake across five axes for smoother, steadier recording when shooting handheld. Additionally, an external microphone jack is incorporated in the body design for greater control over your recorded sound.
Unique to most video recording systems, the 77D also features an HDR Movie mode that can be used to achieve greater highlight and shadow detail when recording in high contrast scenarios. This mode captures two HD frames at different exposures, one normal and one underexposed, in short succession at up to 60 fps and then composites them during playback at 30 fps to create a movie with a longer-appearing dynamic range.

Complementing the imaging capabilities is a 51-point Multi-CAM 3500FX II autofocus system, which features 15 cross-type points for fast performance and accurate subject tracking capabilities in a variety of lighting conditions.

Balancing the performance attributes, the D7500 is also characterized by its sleek profile and monocoque construction that is comfortable and easy to handle. This physical design is also fully weather-sealed to permit working in harsh environmental conditions. In addition to the pentaprism optical viewfinder, a rear 3.2" 922k-dot touchscreen is also featured, and has a tilting design to benefit working from high and low shooting angles. Additionally, SnapBridge Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permit wireless transferring of photos and movies and remote control over the camera from linked mobile devices.

20.9MP DX-Format CMOS Sensor and EXPEED 5 Image Processor
The DX-format 20.9MP CMOS sensor is paired with the EXPEED 5 image processor to provide an esteemed mixture of high sensitivity, nuanced image quality, and fast overall performance. At native values, a sensitivity range from ISO 100-51200 permits working in a broad array of lighting conditions, and can be further expanded to ISO 50-1640000 (Lo 1 to Hi 5) to handle the most challenging of situations. The mixture of resolution and sensor size also contributes to clean image quality and smooth color transitions with reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range.

In addition to benefitting image quality, the EXPEED 5 processor also affords a wealth of speed throughout the camera system, including a top continuous shooting rate of 8 fps with full-time autofocus and exposure metering. Up to 100 JPEGs or 50 14-bit lossless compressed NEF files can be recorded in a single burst.
4K UHD Video Recording
Capable of recording more than just stills, the D7500 supports 4K UHD video recording at 30, 25, and 24 fps frame rates and Full HD/HD recording at up to 60 fps, along with the ability to save movie files to the in-camera memory cards or as an uncompressed file, with 4:2:2 sampling, to an optional external recorder via HDMI out. For maintained quality and versatility in how your movies look, three image area options are available:
  • 4K UHD movie image format is an area that provides a 1.5x increase in the effective focal length of the lens in use and is reserved for 4K 3840 x 2160 recording.
  • 1.3x-based movie image area provides a 1.3x crop of the DX sensor, and is used for recording Full HD and HD video.
  • DX-based movie image format utilizes the full width of the DX-format sensor, and is used to record Full HD 1920 x 1080 and HD 1280 x 720 video. This setting is well-suited for shallow depth of field effects and provides the widest field of view.

As with still shooting, the wide range of sensitivities is available for recording in low- and bright-light conditions, ranging from expanded ISO 100-1640000, and sensitivity values are manually adjustable via the dedicated movie-shooting menu. Also, a video-optimized Flat Picture Control mode can be used during recording to flatten the overall contrast curve for more control during post-production and color grading.

Benefitting handheld shooting, an Electronic Vibration Reduction feature can be used during Full HD and HD recording, which minimizes the appearance of camera shake across three axes to control horizontal, vertical, and rotational movements. Additionally, Active D-Lighting can also be employed during Full HD/HD shooting to preserve highlight and shadow detail when working in high-contrast situations.

In regard to handling, a dedicated power aperture button (Pv) makes it possible to achieve smooth, continuous exposure transitions when switching from light to dark areas and Auto ISO can also be used to maintain consistent brightness when working in changing light situations. Audio recording can be handled using the built-in stereo microphone or an optional external mic can be added via the 3.5mm stereo jack for greater control over quality. Regardless if using the in-camera mic or an external mic, audio levels can be adjusted in 20 increments and live monitoring is possible via the headphone jack.

In addition to straight movie recording, time-lapse recording, for up to 9999 consecutive frames shot over the course of up to one week, is also possible with up to 4K UHD/30p output from the camera.

Simply for first-time DSLR user

Equipped with a grip that allows a steady hold on the camera, an optical viewfinder that enables the quick capture of fleeting moments, and a main dial for quick function switching, the EOS 3000D offers new camera users the quintessential DSLR experience. The 18-megapixel APS-C-size CMOS sensor is about 25 times larger than the sensor used in smartphone cameras. This allows it to capture more light and detail in images, and also contributes to the ability to achieve a beautiful background blur. Image information is quickly processed by the DIGIC 4+ image processor, resulting in high-resolution, high-quality output. Small and lightweight at approximately 436g (including battery and memory card), this is one camera that is also ideal for travel.

Beautiful, high-resolution images with the 24.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor & DIGIC 4+ image processor

A myriad of possibilities for creative expression

Wi-Fi / NFC-Easy pairing with smartphones, printers and other devices

EOS 1500D

The large 24.1-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, on par with those on Canon’s DSLRs for advanced users, captures abundant light information, which is processed by the fast DIGIC 4+ image processor to produce high-quality images with beautiful color gradations. Even shots taken in low-light at a high ISO speed are clear with minimal noise. The large sensor size also contributes to the ability to achieve the shallow depth-of-field necessary for creating images with smooth background blur.

EOS 1500D

Users can choose their favorite style of shooting: Through the optical viewfinder, which has quick, precise viewfinder AF; or in Live View mode on the large, 3.0-inch LCD screen to easily fine-tune composition and framing. In addition to 5 Creative filter effects, the "Shoot by ambience" selection provides another way to create images with the mood and feel that you envision.

EOS 1500D

Pair your camera and smartphone via Wi-Fi / NFC and the Camera Connect App, and you can easily use your smartphone to browse, save and upload your camera images to social media, or to carry out remote shooting-great for self-portraits and group photos. You can also wirelessly transfer files to printers and other cameras through direct pairing, or to TV sets via the Connect Station CS100.

The search for uncompromising performance in the worlds of photography and videography is over. The Nikon D850 sets remarkable standards of quality in both, possessing an impressive 45.7 effective megapixels that allows it to capture the most awe-inspiring images and produce phenomenal 8K UHD time-lapse movies via images taken with its silent interval timer shooting. Create epic film masterpieces in full-frame 4K UHD with NIKKOR wide-angle lenses, or prolong exquisite moments with its 120p/100p Full HD slow-motion recording. It also boasts enhanced superior agility to keep up with the demands of the modern photographer, such as continuous shooting functions at speeds approximately 7 frames per second (fps) or 9 fps1, and a revolutionary shutter and mirror drive mechanism that improve the stability of the composition. Whether your interest lies with the fields of fashion, nature, sports or wedding photography and videography, you will always be inspired to bring out your best with the game-changing Nikon D850.

ALL YOU NEED TO CRAFT A TIMELESS IMAGE

Meet the camera that has perfected extraordinary image clarity, with its stunning 45.7 effective megapixels, giving you superior enhanced resolution that is impeccably suited to professional large-format poster or canvas print. An ISO range of 64 to 25600 also allows increased sensitivity and versatility with a wide range of environments.

DIRECT STUNNING CONTENT

Record the magic of those “I do” moments for all eternity with this camera. As a revolutionary first for Nikon DSLR cameras, full-frame 4K UHD and Full HD movie can be filmed in both Nikon FX-based and DX-based movie formats. This allows you the versatility to record even more details in either the 35mm DX-format which provides more reach, or the large FX-format that provides a shallow depth of field with a captivating bokeh effect. The versatility continues from time-lapse to slow-motion shooting functions – the camera offers the ability to create images that go beyond 8K UHD with silent interval timer shooting at 45 megapixels and 4x (shot at 120/100p, recorded at 30/25p) or 5x (shot at 120p, recorded at 24p) slow-motion film.2

POWER AND SPEED AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

Never miss a once-in-a-lifetime photo with the improved speed and power of this camera. Employ the approximately 7 fps or 9 fps1 high-speed continuous shooting to your advantage and capture the action at the exact moment you need. Enhance your abilities with the superior 153-point autofocus (AF) system and an exclusive AF engine that utilises parallel processing with a sequence control microcomputer so you get high performance autofocusing even for demanding high-speed shoots. The camera even has an optical viewfinder with approximately 0.75x magnification, the largest in Nikon DSLR camera history, so you can compose the perfect shot with its wide field of view.

BRING OUT THE TRUE COLOURS OF EVERY SHOT

Always shoot in the best light, even when you are exploring the great outdoors. The Nikon D850 offers a wide range of colour temperatures to provide you with the best tones and exposure, especially when it comes to natural light sources. The natural light auto function provides a more accurate white balance while outdoors, creating more vibrant colours that stand out with every image. The camera also offers reliable remote flash shooting using Nikon SB-50003 via radio-control. Even when there are obstacles between your Nikon D850 and the Nikon SB-5000, you can still count on consistently dependable flash control that offers you enhanced flexibility wherever you go.

MAINTAIN YOUR STABILITY EVEN UNDER PRESSURE

From museums to theatres, you will be artfully assisted by the camera’s 45-megapixel silent photography that is completely noiseless during shutter release. Even during sound sensitive situations involving animals or athletes, the approximately 6 fps4 continuous silent shooting boosts your ability to capture that key shot. Additionally, innovative new shutter and mirror drive mechanisms act in tandem to reduce vibration during shutter release, avoiding mechanical vibrations that could impact the sharpness of your image.

ENGINEERED FOR EFFICIENCY

Featuring a tilting 3.2-inch, 2359k-dot touch-screen LCD monitor, the Nikon D850 enables smoother operation through a wider range of touch operations, facilitating easier confirmation for composition and images. When you need extreme clarity in product or macro photography, the focus shift function on the camera automatically takes images while moving focus position from starting point to infinity, competently acquiring images for focus stacking5. The camera even facilitates a more flexible editing process with the ability of batch processing RAW files directly within the camera.

NEVER LET YOUR MEMORIES FADE AWAY

Turn your negatives into digital keepsakes with the camera’s unique negative digitizer function. In a few simple steps, you can use basic equipment6 to convert your negative film, either colour or monochrome, to 45-megapixel digital photos. Introducing the new D810A, Nikon’s first FX-format DSLR*1 exclusively created for astrophotography. With an impressive 36.3-megapixel image sensor that shoots in ultra high definition, this stellar camera also features outstanding capabilities to capture nebulae that emit with H-alpha wavelength in red. It is enhanced with unique functions specifically designed for astrophotography, such as the long exposure Manual (M*) mode and live view preview function to better capture the majestic beauty of the night sky.

CAPTURE H-ALPHA WAVELENGTH NEBULAE

Built specifically to meet the needs of astrophotography, the D810A is equipped with an FX-format CMOS image sensor without an optical low-pass filter. It also comes with an optical filter (IR cut filter) with reassessed transmission characteristics in which the transmission of H-alpha spectral line has been increased by approximately four times from a typical DSLR, reproducing vivid reds of nebulae and constellations. This allows you to take remarkably detailed images of nebulae and other celestial objects in rich vibrant colours with a high signal-to-noise ratio that are true to the eye.

IMAGE QUALITY THAT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD

Built specifically for astrophotography, the D810A delivers stunningly-sharp images that are rich in detail and vibrant colours, bringing your vision to life. The collective power of a 36.3-megapixel FX-format CMOS image sensor and EXPEED 4 image-processing engine maintains a rich tonality and high resolution. Its wide ISO range of 200 to 12800 (expandable from 100 to 51200) captures incomparable images of the nebulae, efficiently minimising noise even at high sensitivities for a wide variety of shooting environments.

SPACE-AGE TECHNOLOGY FOR THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH

The D810A is optimised with astrophotography functions that require minimal configuration. Primed to capture sensational sights of the Milky Way or a meteor shower, the long exposure M mode (M*) allows for a shutter speed of up to 900 seconds to catch as much light as possible. When the shutter speed is set at 30 seconds or longer*2, the live view preview function displays a brighter, clearer preview image. Take a closer look at the stars with the ability to enlarge live view images up to approximately 23 times to help you better compose and focus your shots.

CAPABILITIES THAT REACH FOR THE STARS

The D810A features the most outstanding resolving power amongst the Nikon DSLR cameras ensuring that every miniscule detail of deep space is captured with crystal clarity. The electronic front-curtain shutter feature available under the Mirror-up shooting function reduces vibration of internal mechanics and mirror movement, retaining pixel-precise sharpness in long exposure shots. The limit for continuous shooting in CH or CL release mode with a shutter speed of 4 seconds or slower has also been infinitely extended. This allows you to fully capture beautiful star and light trails for as long as your memory card capacity and battery permit.

BUILT FOR JOURNEYS AND EXPLORATIONS

The D810A comes in a robust, weather-resistant body, complete with a comprehensive seal against dust and water droplets, and a grip that sits comfortably in your hand. The shutter is newly-designed for accuracy and durability, and even tested for 200,000 cycles with the unit actually loaded on the camera, ensuring improved camera longevity and years of trouble-free astrophotography.

A WORLD OF OUTSTANDING LENSES AND ACCESSORIES

ULTIMATE SPEED FOR ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE

The Nikon D810 will capture the action shots you desire with the clarity you demand. Revel in a continuous shooting rate of approximately 5 frames per second (fps)*1 in FX-format, and up to approximately 7 fps*1 in DX-format.Choose between a variety of focus configurations with the highly-accurate 51-point autofocus (AF) system to suit the shooting situation and capture precise images with the sharpest detail. With the Group-area AF mode, you can take advantage of an improved level of subject detection.

BE ASTOUNDED BY UNRIVALLED QUALITY

Shoot images with an unprecedented level of detail with the D810’s full-frame, 36.3-megapixel sensor designed without an optical low-pass filter (OLPF). Capture incredibly stunning images at ISO 64, a first for Nikon DSLRs, up to ISO 12800. The superior power of the sensor is further enhanced by the EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, which delivers high resolution across all sensitivities for both stills and video.

INTELLIGENT FEATURES YOU CAN RELY ON

Cleverly designed with an electronic front-curtain shutter and a newly-developed mechanical sequence, the Nikon D810 captures exceptionally sharp images by reducing the internal vibration of the camera. This redesigned shutter also allows you to shoot images with absolute discretion, thanks to the diminished shutter noise. For effortless shooting, the Nikon D810 features an optical viewfinder with 100% frame coverage and prism coating to provide a brighter view.

PRECISION-CRAFTED DESIGN ELEMENTS

The Nikon D810 has been enhanced with design features that draw out the full potential of this 36.3-megapixel marvel. The LCD monitor takes advantage of RGBW alignment, an increased number of white dots, and an integrated glass-and-panel structure for increased screen brightness. The colour balance of the monitor can be customised according to your preference or shooting situation. The body of the D810 has also been effectively sealed to protect against dust and water droplets to provide durability.

WORK FASTER, WORK SMARTER

When shooting with RAW, the Nikon D810 offers an option other than JPEG: the RAW size S*2 (12 bit, uncompressed). This image option has a quarter of the resolution with a file size which is half that of the uncompressed RAW size L, speeding up the time needed for transfer and post-production. RAW size S files still maintain the rich tonality of RAW format images combined with the sharpness of JPEG size S shots so quality is never compromised.

INTUITIVELY SIMPLE

Focus your attention on what’s important – finding and creating the right shot – with a series of thoughtfully designed features. The D810’s i button provides quick and direct access to various functions that complement your shooting situation. With the Split-Screen Display zoom feature, you can simultaneously view two points in a split screen for accurately levelled images, which is essential when capturing shots of architectural structures such as buildings and bridges.

UNLEASH THE D810’S FULL STRENGTH WITH NIKKOR LENSES

Make the most out of the power that a 36.3-megapixel camera can deliver with a range of equally high-performance lenses for the Nikon D810. From f/1.4 primes to fast f/2.8 zooms and f/4 zooms with Vibration Reduction (VR), the latest NIKKOR lenses – many designed with the renowned Nano Crystal Coat – are fully optimised with superior rendering capabilities to capture the high-resolution images the Nikon D810 has been created to deliver.
